...that's what tea parties are made of. Well, that and a pair of remarkable hosts and a fabulous group of friends.
This particular tea party was a fundraising event to raise money for the MS Trust, who I'll be running this year's London Marathon for. It was concocted, organised and hosted by the amazing Miho to whom I'm very grateful.
Dale prepared 81 finger sandwiches which, I have to emphatically assert, were some of the best I've ever had the pleasure of eating. I was told it was the freshly baked bread that came from the local bakery – but I'd like to think it was Dale, wearing a pink pinny (photos not allowed) – that made them so good.
Then came the freshly-baked scones, clotted cream and jam. You know when you think it can't get any better, and then it does? That was the scones. Hats off to Miho, especially considering it was her first attempt at baking them.
But there's more. We had melt-in-your-mouth brownies, a light and delicate chocolate cake and a oh-my-god-I-can't-get-enough-of-this lime/cheesecake/blueberry/sponge treat. I was so busy savouring the taste of this slice of heaven that I can't even remember it's name. Add to this an impressive variety of teas, a fair amount of bubbly and a wee quiz and you get the idea. It was a cracking afternoon.
Thank you to Miho and Dale for putting so much effort into making it such a fantastic day and to Kath, Julia, Angela, Sarah, Christine, Kelly, Graham, John and Amy for coming along and making it a fundraising success!
